Baked Crispy Chicken Wings

Baked Crispy Chicken Wings with Cornflakes. Doesn’t prefer the deep frying method ? Then this oven baked chicken wings recipe would be another choice to enjoy crispy chicken at home. Crispy outer skin with soft, tender and moist inner meat. Easy to make and delicious in taste.
Ingredients for marination :
- 6pcs Chicken Wings
3pcs garlic (paste)
2cm ginger (paste)
1/2 lime juice
1 teaspoon chili powder/paprika
1 Teaspoon dried oregano
1 Tablespoon olive oil/melted butter
2 Teaspoon salt
2 Tablespoon honey (sugar )
1/2 Teaspoon white pepper powder
Some crushed black pepper
Ingredients for Crispy Coating :
- 3/4 Cup All purpose flour (tepung gandum)
1/2 Teaspoon chili powder
Pinch of white pepper powder
Pinch of black pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 White egg
1 cup of cornflakes (grind to semi fine texture)
Let’s bake the Chicken Wings :
Prepare the required ingredients.
Chili powder/paprika can be used.
Lime juice is a must (option to use vinegar- 1/4 table spoon).
Add the marination ingredients with chicken wings.
Give a good mix.
Place the chicken marination portion in a bowl/ air tight container. Close with the lid.
1) Place it refrigerator for minimum 2-3 hrs marination or
2) In freezer compartment for overnight marination.
The KEY for delicious and tender chicken roast is depending on the marination spices and the duration of marination. The longer the marination, tastier the chicken will be.
Now, prepare the ingredients for the crispy coating.
3/4 cup of All purpose flour, seasoned with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon chili powder, pinch of white pepper and black pepper powder. Mix it well.
2 egg white – beat in a bowl.
1 cup of cornflakes. Can use food processor to grind it (semi fine texture). Suggested to season the cornflakes with pinch of salt.
Preheat the oven 200 Celsius, top and bottom heat.
Arrange the needed ingredients for coating process.
Chicken wings + Flour + white egg + crushed cornflakes
1st – Coat the marinated chicken wings with flour.
2nd- Dip the chicken wings into the white egg.
3rd – Coat the chicken wings with crushed cornflakes.
Arrange the wings on a wired rack/ baking tray.
Note : Wired baking rack, will ensure that each side of the chicken wings baked evenly.
Bake the chicken wings for 40-45 minutes, 200 Celcius.
Note :The cornflakes coating might get burned after some time of baking (after 30 minutes – depending on the oven). Suggested to cover the chicken wings with a piece of aluminium foil till the balance of baking minutes done. This step will ensure that the baked crispy cornflakes are in golden color, even with longer baking hours.
